My name is Damir, and 33 Bohemian was born from a simple but powerful dream, to honor Morocco’s ancient weaving traditions and to improve the lives of the women who keep them alive.

It all began when I returned to the small villages where I grew up, deep in the Atlas Mountains, where art isn’t just created it’s inherited. I saw women sitting at their looms, weaving stories through wool, passing down patterns from mothers to daughters like sacred memories. Each rug carried the history of a family, a tribe, and a culture.

But what I also saw broke my heart. These incredible women, who poured their souls into every thread, were often underpaid and unseen. Their work pure, authentic, and rich with tradition was being undervalued by middlemen and lost to mass production. I knew there had to be a better way to bring their art to the world while giving them the respect and opportunity they truly deserve.

That’s how 33 Bohemian was born, not just as a brand, but as a bridge. A bridge between Morocco’s traditional artistry and the modern world. A connection between conscious homes and the soulful hands that create each rug. From the beginning, I wanted 33 Bohemian to stand for honesty, respect, and human connection, values that guide everything we do.

Each of them has her own story, Amina, who weaves her family’s past into every pattern, or Fatima, who blends modern design with ancient technique. Together, they represent strength, creativity, and resilience.

That’s why we introduced the idea of Artisan Nurseries, spaces where mothers can work peacefully while their children stay close, safe, and learning. These nurseries are more than just childcare — they are an investment in the next generation of Moroccan artisans.
